Even as the U.S. Missile Defense Agency announces the installation of the 44th and final interceptor of the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system, the Trump administration has submitted a request for more missile defense spending.
An additional $6 billion would be earmarked to fund additional GMD, ship and THAAD missile defenses, as well as funds to accelerate repairs for the damaged destroyers John S. McCain and Fitzgerald.
