While the last war in 2006 was widely viewed as a disaster for both sides, recent reports of Iran constructing manufacturing facilities in Lebanon for volume production of precision-guided missiles has reset the countdown clock for open hostilities. A pre-emptive strike against such facilities could trigger a retaliatory attack by Hezbollah and a resumption of full-scale war.
