The U.S. Navy is actively searching for a new, high powered surface laser as part of the its very first Rapid Prototyping Experimentation Demonstration (RPED) project.
The plan is to replace existing 30 kw lasers with new, 65 kw lasers and integrating them with the Navy’s Aegis Combat System of the Arleigh Burke class.
We’ll see what opportunities may turn up there.
